When a sideways sheet helps
A landscape calendar is a desk calendar: the sheet sits under a keyboard or on a table, and each day is a wide rectangle. It is also the natural paper for a horizontal week. A tall wall month is usually portrait. If you hang landscape on a fridge, confirm the magnet clip can hold the 11-inch side.
Set Orientation to landscape and match that setting in the print dialog. A mismatch is the usual reason Saturday disappears—the printer still thinks the job is portrait and clips the right edge. The print class on this page requests Letter landscape or A4 landscape to match the control.
Teacher classroom months default to landscape, so weekday subject lines have width and weekends can be a little larger. Hourly weeks also default to landscape because seven days plus an hour gutter need the long side of the paper.
Ink-saver gray is useful on landscape because the sheet has more rule length. High contrast is better if you photocopy the page. Accent colors stay as a title color, not a full-page flood, so they should not drain a color cartridge.
If you need two months on one landscape sheet, the compact two-up preset stacks months on portrait Letter instead. That is a different compromise: two compact months, not one extra-wide month.
